Double Bass players wanted

Wokingham Philharmonic Orchestra is a newly formed amateur orchestra in Berkshire looking for regular orchestra members of all ages. You need to be approx. Grade 7+ level to cope with the music we play, with a bit of practice. Ages 16+ welcome. We are a dedicated friendly and supportive group, with an active WhatsApp and social media presence and social events. We aim for 2 local concerts per year. Whether you have an instrument gathering dust and you wish to get back into playing, or you are a seasoned player, and you wish to try us out, please do come along to a rehearsal, or a few! Leeds based orchestra with a commitment to taking classical music to people and places other orchestras don’t reach. We rehearse on Wednesdays 7.30 - 9.30 during term time. We do not operate formal auditions as we favour orchestral trials - come along to a rehearsal and see what you make of us. We know people have busy and complicated lives, so we endeavour to be accommodating! We currently have one double bass, but she'd like a buddy!

We are looking for a player to join us as a permanent member, and usually welcome players to join us for a few trial rehearsals first of all. There are rehearsals on 24/9, 29/9, 2/10, 6/10, and 9/10. Rehearsals from 19:00-22:00, Concert Smith Square, 3-6 Rehearsal, 7:30 concert. Main piece is John Adams' Harmonielehre. Conductor Chris Stark, Solist (Barber Violin Concerto) Charlie Lovell-Jones.

Amateur Orchestra based in South Liverpool, has vacancies for all strings, especially double bass. Rehearsals are every Tuesday, with a concert planned for 1 December.

We rehearse on a Wednesday evening and are based at Hampstead Garden Suburb's Free Church, the London International Concert Orchestra is composed of retired and working professionals, recent graduates and amateur players; from all backgrounds and of all ages and nationalities united by our love of music, We have an exciting programme of music ahead of us and would very much like a couple of regular bass players . We are a young friendly and social orchestra who play to a relatively high standard. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings 7:30pm to 9:45pm September to July with three concerts per year.

Camden Symphony Orchestra is one of London's leading non-professional orchestras. We have been a mainstay of musical life in north London for more than forty years with around seventy regular players. Under our Musical Director Levon Parikian, CSO seeks to combine the familiar staples of the Classical, Romantic and 20th century repertoire with less well-known and more challenging works. We rehearse on a weekly basis and perform three major orchestral concerts a year. We are looking for double basses to join our large string section.
